You snooze you lose: Does Zyppah work?

Jun 5th 2023

We have all heard the saying, “you snooze you lose.” Not only is it catchy but, it is also true. If you wait on an opportunity the likelihood of you losing it is higher than you’d think. Snoozing is something that is extremely important and if it is not important, it should be. A good night's rest can make or break the day ahead. Perhaps it is you or the person you sleep next to or near, but we have an inclination that one of you has a problem with snoring.

Snoring can be something that truly wrecks your sleeping habits and patterns. It can also cause relationship problems whether it be with a partner or a roommate. So, how do we fix such things? There are many different ways that folks have tried to get rid of those horrible evening noises. Is there one that works? Zyppah, our anti-snoring device.

Zyppah: our anti-snoring device

Again, there are many things that claim to get rid of snoring and some may work, some may not. What about Zyppah? Does it work? What even is Zyppah?

Zyppah is an anti-snoring device that has a tongue elastic that stops snoring from the source AKA the tongue. Zyppah is a type of mouth guard product that stops those annoying noises. The way the Zyppah is made it acts like a seatbelt for the tongue. This way your tongue has no way of blocking the airway (which is why you snore) and therefore no snoring can occur.

Our “seatbelt” or what we call the Z-factor is patented and supports the tongue to open the airway. There are likely many more questions that you have regarding Zyppah. One very important question is, does it work? We have many reviews of no, not the person wearing the Zyppah but the people who sleep next to/near the person wearing our anti-snoring device. Why do I snore?

snoring

To really understand the Zyppah you must understand why you snore. There can be many reasons that you snore and there can be reasons that you are more likely to snore. Here are a few:

There are many different reasons why snoring starts and doesn’t stop. Here are a few common reasons why people begin to snore:

  • Anatomy of the mouth
  • Anatomy of the sinuses
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Allergies
  • Sleep deprivation
  • The cold
  • The position you sleep in
  • Your weight

Reasons you’re more likely to snore

  • Having a narrow airway
  • Drinking alcohol
  • Being overweight
  • Being male
  • Having nasal problems
  • Family history of snoring or obstructive sleep apnea

When you fall asleep and start falling into a deeper sleep, your soft palate (the roof of your mouth), throat and tongue relax. The tissue in your throat then relaxes to the point where it blocks your airway partially and therefore vibrates. The narrower your airway becomes the louder you’ll snore. This is where the Zyppah Z-factor (the tongue seatbelt) comes into play. If your tongue cannot get to your air way, there is no chance of snoring.

We are sure you’ve got some more concerns and questions about Zyppah. Who wouldn’t? New things can be unnerving. To help ease your mind, here is a list of questions we are often asked:

First things first, is it worth the price?

Of course, we think the answer is yes, but you will have to try it to find out. There are so many products that claim to work, but don't! Zyppah was introduced in a clinical study where it was shown to be 91% effective. That’s quite effective! The technology used to make a Zyppah was designed by a doctor and a biomedical engineer.

There are no other devices that contain a tongue strap. So, the question you may want to ask yourself is how much is sleeping well worth? Most devices don’t have the research that Zyppah does. Why try products that are not proven to be effective when you could start your non-snoring evenings now?

Is it comfortable?

All new things take time. Whether it be a new workout routine, new diet, or even a new hobby. The same goes with the Zyppah. Some folks immediately love the fit of their Zyppah, others, it may take some time. We like to think of the first little while of wearing the Zyppah as a training period.

It always takes time to get used items that are in your mouth, remember braces? What about your post-braces-retainer? You’ve just got to get used to the sensation of the item in your mouth. We recommend trying to wear it for one hour during the day before trying to wear it throughout the night. It may be easy to get discouraged with uncomfortable products at first, but we hope that you don’t lose hope and try your best to be patient. It will likely take a few weeks before you get totally used to the anti-snoring device. It’s important to keep in mind that you didn’t always snore and because of that it will take a while to get rid of it.

Does it matter which side I sleep on?

No! It does not matter which side you sleep on. These devices work however you sleep. But keep in mind that sleeping on your side is most beneficial to stop snoring. If you are a back sleeper, you are more likely to snore. But Zyppah is made to work at every side of sleeping.

How long does it take to work?

This question really just depends on the person. Some people may see or hear results immediately. Other people may not see results until they are fully used to the device. We encourage you not to give up! We believe this can work for you if you just give it a bit of time.

Do I need to replace my Zyppah?

If you use Zyppah normally, replacing your device every 3 to 4 months is the most beneficial. However, if you grind your teeth, you may want to replace it more often. Here at Zyppah we offer a Loyalty program where we will send you a new appliance every few months at a discounted rate. Don’t you love a deal?

Snooze and don’t lose!
